Pre-Taped Masking Film FAQ
JOY PAPER's provides professional pre-taped masking film, suitable for interior decoration, painting projects, and floor and wall protection. It can be used for convenient construction masking and surface protection.
Does the adhesive used on JOY PAPER's pre-taped masking film really leave no residue? Will removal damage the paint surface?
Yes! JOY PAPER's pre-taped masking film uses a specially selected “residue-free adhesive formula,” providing both good initial tack and excellent removability. As long as it is applied and removed within the recommended bonding time at room temperature, it helps keep the applied surface clean and mark-free, leaving no adhesive residue and without damaging the base paint.
Can pre-taped masking film be used for automotive paint baking or industrial high-temperature baking?
No; the PE film used in pre-taped masking film has very limited heat resistance (only about 60°C–70°C). If placed in a paint booth or oven at high temperatures (80°C–150°C or above), the PE film may shrink, melt, and deform, while the standard pressure-sensitive adhesive may also soften and deteriorate, sticking firmly to the surface and causing serious adhesive residue and paint damage. For high-temperature baking applications, please use JOY PAPER's dedicated high-temperature masking tape.
How should I choose the width of pre-taped masking film?
Choose according to the “coverage height or area”: 55cm is suitable for doors, windows, and baseboards; 110cm is suitable for tables, chairs, and low cabinets; 200cm is recommended for tall cabinets and floor-to-ceiling windows; and 300cm is suitable for protecting entire walls and ceilings or fully covering vehicles. For special width or length requirements, JOY PAPER also provides custom consultation and bulk purchasing options.
